“…the ironclad rule—one of my favourite rules, incidentally—that the proof of the pudding is in the eating.”
— Bertolt Brecht

We create

theatrical forms that are fresh encounters with the human condition — sometimes long forgotten forms, sometimes yet unseen forms, but in any case forms that are important to be seen. We work from a close reading of our greatest playwrights — this year Schnitzler, Chekhov, Shakespeare — understanding their writings as blueprints for directly perceivable structures of meaning. No interpretation. No abstraction. Just what happens on stage. Vis comica is our virtue, the 2500-year-old craft of human comedy is our heritage. You laugh. Then you see.
